Mr Tim Ripley

Tim Ripley is a familiar ‘face’ and ‘voice’ in the British and international media. He regularly talks to UK and international media about a variety of defence, security and terrorism issues, including:
 
o   Wars in Iraq and Syria
o   Conflict in Libya
o   The War on Terrorism
o   Balkan Conflicts
o   Middle East Arms Trade
o   Conflict in Afghanistan
o   Military Technology
o   The International Defence Industry
o   War in the Middle East
o   The British Armed Forces
o   Training and Simulation
 
Tim Ripley is also a prolific author of books on military and defence subjects.

Recent titles have covered modern conflicts, historical subjects and military technology.
 
His most recent book, Operation Telic, describes the British military campaign in Iraq, 2003-2009 (available, via www.amazon.co.uk
 
Mr Ripley has examined:
  • The wars in the former Yugoslavia in Air War Bosnia (Airlife 1996), Operation Deliberate Force (CDISS 1999) and Conflict in the Balkans 1991-2000 (Osprey 2001). Other conflict studies include Security Forces in Northern Ireland 1969-92 (Osprey 1993) and Desert Storm Special: Land Power (Osprey 1991)
  • Military technology was profiled in Bombs Gone! Aircraft Ordnance in Action (1994), Modern Strike Aircraft (Salamander 1992), Modern US Army weapons and Equipment (1992), Jane’s Modern Military Helicopters (Harper Collins 1997), Air War Iraq (Pen & Sword), which profiles the role of air power in the US-led invasion of Iraq was published in 2003.
 
Recent appearances include: CNN, Fox News, CBC, Al Jazeera, BBC One O’clock News, Radio Four Today Programme, News 24, Granada Reports, BBC World Service, BBC Local Radio network, BBC 2 Correspondent, Reuters News Agency.
